How to Make Jalapeño Popper Dip
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Then, in a large skillet over medium-high heat cook the bacon. Once crispy, pat the excess fat away and chop finely until you have bacon crumbles.
Remove the seeds from 4 of the jalapeños and dice them finely. With the remaining jalapeño, cut it into slices and set aside for now.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, chopped jalapeños, bacon crumbles, 1 cup of shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well then spread the cream cheese mixture into a square casserole dish.
In a small bowl, combine bread crumbs and melted butter. Then, sprinkle remaining shredded cheese over the casserole and top with the bread crumbs. Place the extra jalapeño slices over the casserole and bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes, then broil for 2-3 minutes until the bread crumbs are golden and the cheese is bubbly. Serve hot with your favorite chips!

Tips and Variations
Crock Pot Instructions: This jalapeño popper dip can be made with ease using a crock pot! Simply follow steps 1 and 2 in the recipe card, then throw everything (excluding the panko and butter) in the crock pot. Cook on low for 2 hours, giving a stir every 45 minutes. Top with the jalapeño slices and more shredded cheese and voila – Crock Pot Jalapeño Popper Dip!
Turn Up The Heat! This recipe is about a level 1 out of 10 on the spicy scale – turn up the heat by leaving some of the seeds in the jalapeños.
No Bacon, No Problem: Don’t love bacon or not eating meat? Simply leave it out – this dip will still be cheesy and delicious without!
Cheese: I like to use cheddar jack because it offers both cheddar and monterey jack in one package, but feel free to switch up the cheese! Some other cheese options include monterey jack, sharp or mild cheddar, pepper jack, colby jack, or anything you like!
Add Chicken: Make this cheesy jalapeño dip with some shredded chicken or rotisserie chicken!
