Ingredients
- 1.5 oz tequila
- 1 oz grand marnier
- 1 oz lime juice
- 1 oz blackberry simple syrup (equal parts water, sugar, blackberries)
- 5 jalapeño slices (about 1/4 of jalapeño pepper)

How to Make Our Blackberry Jalapeño Margarita
For the Blackberry Simple Syrup
- In a small saucepan, combine equal parts water, sugar, and blackberries. (I typically use 1 cup of each and save the remaining syrup for later)
- Bring the mixture to a boil, smashing the blackberries as it heats up. Once boiling, turn the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer, let it cool, and refrigerate until ready to use.
For the Blackberry Jalapeño Margarita
- In a shaker tin or mason jar, add the jalapeño slices and lime juice and muddle. Then, pour in the tequila, Grand Marnier, and blackberry simple syrup. Fill the tin or jar up with ice, seal the shaker, and shake until the tin is freezing, about 10-20 seconds.
- Dip the rim of a fresh glass in lime juice, then dip in your choice of salt, tajin, or sugar. Fill the rimmed glass with ice and strain the margarita into the glass. Garnish with more jalapaño slices, lime wheel, and blackberries

Tools You’ll Need
Shaker Tin– having a shaker tin on hand makes whipping up fun cocktails so easy! Don’t worry, if you don’t have one, you can use a mason jar with a sealable lid.
Jigger – to measure out the ingredients.
Small saucepan – to make the blackberry simple syrup.

Tips and Variations
Simple Syrup – Making your own simple syrup is so simple, cheaper, and tastier than store-bought. I highly recommend making your own. Try making different flavors with different berries!
