For the Chicken

  • Chicken breasts
  • Panko bread crumbs
  • Grated parmesan cheese
  • Chipotle chile powder
  • Paprika
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Salt, to taste

For the Hot Honey Garlic Sauce

  • Hot honey
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Butter
  • Garlic cloves, minced
  • Cayenne pepper

How to Make Crispy Hot Honey Garlic Chicken

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 425°F. Slice the chicken breasts lengthwise to form 4 thinner chicken cutlets—season both sides of each cutlet with salt and pepper.

Step 2: Mix the panko bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, chipotle chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in a medium bowl. Pour the mixture onto a large plate. Then, in a small bowl, whisk together 2 eggs.

Step 3: Dip each cutlet into the eggs, then into the panko mixture until evenly coated on all sides. Place each cutlet onto a baking sheet lined with foil. Bake at 425° for 20 minutes.

Step 4: When the chicken is almost done, prepare the hot honey sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Then, add the hot honey, apple cider vinegar, butter, and cayenne pepper. Stir frequently until it becomes a syrup consistency.

Step 5: Pour the hot honey over the chicken cutlets and serve.

Tips and Variations

No hot honey? No problem! Use regular honey and 1 tsp cayenne powder.

Don’t like spicy? Turn this Hot Honey Garlic Chicken into Honey Garlic Chicken by using regular honey instead of hot honey.

Storage – Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Reheating – It’s best to reheat this crispy chicken in the oven at 400° for about 10-15 minutes.

What to serve with Crispy Hot Honey Garlic Chicken? This hot honey pairs well with almost anything… Pair it with Creamy Mashed Potatoes in the KitchenAid Mixer, Roasted Zucchini and Summer Squash, or your favorite veg and potato recipe.
